At the Pacific International Quilt Show — Saturday eve — Show & Tell session, I started a ‘one hour only’ Raffle for this quilt. All the other teachers jumped in with additional books, fabric, tools, patterns, etc. We had QUITE a collection of treasures.
As show & tell proceeded, Sharon Pederson and I sold $5. tickets to the attendees. Many purchased more than one.
All told – we received $930.
THEN !! Peter & David Mancuso (show owners) said they would round it up to an even $1,000.
AND THEN!! They (Peter & David) DOUBLED IT!!
$2,000. for the Susan G Koman Cure Fund!!
Quilt Market was a terrific show! Such a task – sometimes – to get everything done in a short period of time, though you can see — it was WORTH IT!! The Roses made a great presentation, and we had a dozen quilts to support them. Please notice the Fountain!~ We gurgled for the entire show, used the park bench to hold 3 quilts, and had a fun outdoor garden on aisle 14. We also had lots and lots of wooden roses, and before we were through, they were all over the show on buyer’s badges. Such fun!!
Last night we were at the IQA Awards ceremony. Animas Quilts provides a prize for that event.
Now I’m in Santa Clara for the PIQF show, which begins tomorrow. Three days of workshops, and fellowship with quilters!!
