I gave Jery an iPod for Christmas. The main reason was so he could put his favorite records and cassettes on it (actually the separate tunes from each) and have old favorite music available. So, picture this: right now he’s out in his office, sitting in front of my laptop, deleting some of the music I had put in it before Christmas. You know — we don’t like EVERY song on each CD, tape, and he’s deleting the ones he doesn’t like. Really HAD to get a pic of this!! Then, shortly he’ll begin recording the selected cassettes INTO the laptop (software package makes it easy). He’s – doing it! No rings on his finger NOR bells on his toes, but he shall have music wherever he goes!

I’m curious as to what software you are using to upload your cassettes into your PC. I would like to be able to do the same thing. Thanks!
It’s CD Spin Doctor6 from Roxio plus a cable that has the two output plugs for the cassette or phono and an input for my computer. I found it at Amazon. So far, so good . . . . . . .
When I was reading your blog this morning, I got all excited at the prospect of being able to download music from vinyl to an IPod. I gave an ipod to my husband a couple fo years ago, and while I have been able to load cd’s on, old phono records have eluded me. Now thanks to you, I think I may have another avenue to explore. Wish I lived a bit closer Jackie, I’d really enjoy attending one of the retreats. Each year, I’ve been fortunate to spend a couple of weekends, one in the spring, and one in the fall at retreats. As you say, the fun is right there,all kinds of inspiration and good food as well.

Lynn – It does have a few ‘hiccups’, some of which are probably self inflicted. I can’t seem to get it to ‘install’ in my laptop, and we have to run the disk to make it work . . . . . there’s got to be a trick I’m missing! hmmm.. actually on the menu for later today – to see if I can get past this hurdle!
