Is Silence really SO golden ??

All right, my friends! I made this commitment (are there 2 t’s and 2 m’s? or 2 m’s and 1 t ??) that I would post more often — and hoping for some interaction. . . . . GEEZ! You are silent .

So – - – - flew home today from Arizona. It was one of the best trips ever. I saw FRIENDS, and had dinners with FRIENDS, and loved every minute. My quilting friends are the BEST!   Then, jumped on the big metal bird and winged my way home where I was gloriously met by JERY!! What a wonderful surprise. You know, I miss that man SO much when I’m gone, and manage to do such a wonderful job of getting under his skin when I’m home . . . . . how do we find the BEST happy medium ?? He had steaks thawing. We stopped in Whitefish at the grocery — found spinach (my FAV lunch – with strawberries – found them, too) and asparagus, so we had a feast tonight — one of thos low effort, as good as it gets, feasts.  With Holandaise.  Oh . . .  yummy.

Movie tonight was called Kitt Kittredge.  Clean fun.  Absolutely pristine language, and a sweet and simple story.  Very Disney-ish.  Good.

Bedtime came.  Read a while.  Lights out.  Eyes wide OPEN !  Head wrapped around all the stuff I get (need) to do in the next 3 days, and sleep was out of the question.

So, here I am, thinking of you.  Maybe a couple of glasses of Zin will help induce sleep??    And sweet dreams about the lovely trip to Phoenix and visits with terrific friends!

I’m a lurker-yep, and I bet I’m not the only one! Obviously, I don’t always lurk-just most of the time. Lurking is safe, no need to think of something clever or unique to say.
Spinach and strawberries? Was this a salad? Did you use a basalmic dressing? I like spinach with mandarin orange sections, sunflower seeds, grated parmesan or asiago and basalmic dressing.
In my distant youth I always had a dictionary on my desk to check the spelling of those double m’s or t’s or both words. With the advent of computer use, I can’t even find my dictionary. Of course, there are online versions just a click away. They just lurk out there in cyberspace waiting for someone to remember they are there :o )

  • Hi, Barb – Your salad sounds considerably tastier than mine! But, mine is leaner. I try to consume almost NO FAT calories at lunch time, which means I can’t have that wonderful parmesan – or sunflower seeds. Just trying to maintain my weight is a constant challenge, and I don’t have a ’sweet tooth’. Since I really like fresh RAW Spinach, I also tear up some fat free ham (also low cal) we get at Costco, and slice a couple of fresh Strawberries when I can find then, and doctor it with a wee bit of raspberry vinaigrette (looked at at dictionary.com).

A few years ago, when I had my first intestinal blockage, the Doc put me on blood pressure pills. Ever since (until this past summer) weight gain has been slow – and steady! Frustrating. And – my knees REALLY don’t like it! However, a very bright Doc switched my BP meds when we had this conversation because the old ones virtually brought my metabolism to a standstill. No wonder! So far, I’ve dropped 10 of the excess, with a bit still to go. The next ‘push’ will begin when I return from the next round of travel.

Glad that silver bird got you home safely to Jery. I can’t thank you enough for the great time we had in Phoenix. It was so wonderful to be with you again and your wonderful patterns and out of this world fabric. I miss you already. I am glad that you are taking care of your health and will be spending more time at home. We had rain most of the way to Strawberry and Pine and today we have had snow that looks like powdered sugar. The sun is shineing but it is cold. I am so glad to be one of your friends and I want you to know that I really cherish the time I have spent with you over the years. You have made tons of wonderful memories for me and I appreciate you so very much. Love, Willene

  • Willene – The pleasure was ALL mine! Truly a great few days with you all. So . . . you are getting OUR snow! AGAIN! PLEASE – ship it North. We’re getting desperate! We are having sun – after all the grey days this winter, it’s a welcome bright spot in the sky!

    I’ll keep thinking of you!
